Amazon Attribution

Amazon doesn't let outside tools put tracking on its checkout. Instead, Amazon Attribution measures sales from off-Amazon traffic, and AFFN turns those numbers into partner commissions.

What you need

  • A brand enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry (US, CA, MX, UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, JP, AU and more).
  • Access to Amazon Ads with Amazon Attribution enabled (free for registered brands).
  • An approved AFFN brand program and at least one approved partner.

1. Create an Amazon offer

Under My Offers → New offer, choose Amazon listing, enter the product's ASIN and marketplace, and set the commission. Amazon offers pay on sales only. Optionally paste an Amazon Attribution link as the destination; otherwise partners are sent to the product page.

2. Connect your Amazon Ads account

  1. 1
Open Amazon in the brand menu and pick your region.
  2. 2
Click Login with Amazon and approve access for AFFN.
  3. 3
You return to AFFN with the account shown as Connected.

AFFN requests the advertising::campaign_management permission, which Amazon requires to read Attribution reports. AFFN only reads reports and manages attribution tags; it never changes your bids, budgets, campaigns or listings. Click Disconnect anytime to revoke access, and remove the app from your Amazon account settings if you want.

3. Give each partner a tag

Every approved partner has a code like NB-1A2B3C4D on the Amazon page. In Amazon Attribution, create an ad group per partner and include that code in the ad group name. Share the resulting Amazon Attribution link with the partner, or set it as the offer destination.

4. Credit partners

Until automatic sync is switched on for your account, export the Attribution performance report by ad group as CSV and upload it under Amazon → Import. AFFN matches each row to a partner by tag and to your offer by ASIN, applies your commission rules, and adds the amounts to Payouts Owed. Uploading the same report again never double-counts.

Amazon reports sales with a delay of up to 14 days and may adjust them. Reverse any adjusted sale from Conversions, just like a website refund.

Brand Referral Bonus

Amazon pays registered brands a bonus (typically around 10% of sales, varies by category) on sales driven by off-Amazon traffic measured through Attribution. Many brands use it to fund partner commissions. The calculator on the Amazon page estimates this. The bonus is paid by Amazon to you; AFFN never receives or moves money.

How Amazon data is handled

  • Amazon data is used only to credit your partners and to show you your own reports.
  • It is never sold, never shared with other brands, and not used for advertising.
  • Partners see only their own commission totals, never your full Amazon reports.
  • Access tokens are stored encrypted at rest on our servers, never in the browser, and are deleted when you disconnect.
